I think the title speaks for itself. On to the dresses!
Birds of North America
For those seeking a more fitted dress that hugs and snatches in all the right places (and none of the wrong places!), take a gander at Birds of North America. I own four (!) of their dresses and each one makes me feel like a million bucks.
Birds (as it’s lovingly called to fans of the brand) is basically known for its dresses. You will know why as soon as you slip one on. The designer carefully shapes the fit for curves, and there are sooooo many different styles, colours, and patterns to choose from. There’s a dress for every body at Birds.
Another thing you’ll love? Most of the dresses have pockets. Yes, real pockets. And most, if not all, of the dresses use natural, breathable fibres like cotton and linen, so you’ll be feeling breezy in the warm weather.
Oh, and don’t forget to check their ReNest section to buy preloved Birds pieces at a reduced price.
Londre
Canada’s sexiest swimsuit brand now has an apparel line. And it’s made with the same curve-enhancing features that we’ve collectively gushed over in their swim line. The slinky fabric uses a similar recycled plastic, made from water bottles. But there’s a whole lotta stretch! Plus, they are made responsibly and ethically in Vancouver.
Thief and Bandit
Halifax-based Thief and Bandit has me swooning each and every season over their hand-printed tops, dresses, and bell bottom pants. Their Spring/Summer 2023 summer collection is no exception. These are all lovingly made in-studio in small quantities. Many of the designs are available in solids as well as their signature funky prints. The fabric is cotton-based but stretchy and breathable.
Check their website regularly since the designer releases new prints and designers every month or so.
