My odds are stacked. I’ll go back to black…
The question is: What’s your twist? How do you accent your all black ensemble? A simple statement necklace will do. What about a hat? A pair of gloves? A pair of thigh-high boots? That’s the beauty of the LBO (Little Black Outfit): you can change it’s overall vibe with accents. Demure, powerful, playful, or posh. Play up however you are feeling that day. Your neutral outfit is the perfect backdrop for a bold statement!
I find my go-to LBO changes over the years. Today’s incarnation features liquid-tight faux-leather skinny jeans, a fitted 3/4 sleeve top, a structured blazer, a wicked gold serpent buckle belt, and thigh-high faux-suede boots. I tend to match my metal accents, especially when they are the focus of the outfit. Gold zippers, gold patterns on the scarf, a gold belt buckle and gold plates on my heels create a cohesive theme. Because this is a some-what aggressive look (nothing wrong with that!), I chose to soften the overall effect with a vintage silk scarf and large faux pearl earrings. My gorgeous Stella McCartney messenger bag with gun-metal chain details keep the look edgy, effortless and not too matchy-matchy.
