The Best Vegan Food in Paris

Urban Greener, the Best Vegan Brunch in Paris

Let me assure you that I take brunch seriously. Very seriously. I tried several vegan restaurants in Paris before being absolutely blown away by this little gem hidden on a residential side street near Sacre Coeur. Urban Greener makes an epic brunch on Sundays. The size of their brunch plate could easily be enough food for two people. And it is served in three parts: hot and cold drinks, savoury dish, sweet dish.

Over the years, I’ve sampled many vegan breakfast foods. Urban Greener’s approach is both unique and ridiculously satisfying. (If you have tried vegan restaurants in Toronto, the style of this menu is similar to places like Urban Herbivore, Fresh, and other Toronto vegan food staples.) There were several standouts: the scrambled tofu and the pancakes. I consider myself a bit of a scrambled tofu expert, and their scrambled tofu on toast is in the top 3 beat I’ve ever had. The rice paper ‘bacon’ garnish is a really nice touch!

The Urban Greener has a little patio on the street that looks up to the Sacre Cœur park. It’s small and gets filled fast. So arrive early.

brEAThe, for Elegant and Tasty Vegan Food in Paris

brEAThe has two locations in Paris and they specialize in elevated vegan food. We visited the one just south of the Moulin Rouge. The Gua Bao sandwiches, Fried Ravioli with ginger cream, and Panko Seitan with Japanese curry mayo were standouts. You won’t leave hungry and the flavours are phenomenal.

Land & Monkeys, the Crowd Pleaser

If you’re looking for an all-around great place to eat with lots of fresh options, Land & Monkeys is a solid choice. Their sandwiches are made with freshly baked breads, herbs, and satiating fillings. And if you’re looking for a sweet bite, their desserts are delicious.

Land & Monkeys has multiple locations across Paris. (We preferred it over other chain vegan restaurants that we tried.)

Riz Riz, Laid Back and Unique Vegan Food

Riz Riz is fully vegan and tucked into a busy side street of Paris that has a locals-only feel. It focuses on less food waste, but I don’t think you would know that by sampling their menu. I liked popping into this cozy restaurant when I wanted something lighter but comforting. Like the name suggests, there are several rice dishes. Personally, I like their curries and if you’re feeling indecisive their sampling plate is great.

This restaurant also directly helps integrate asylum seekers. Many of the staff are themselves!

Favourite Oat Milk Latte in Paris

Let me paint you a very Parisienne moment: Imagine sipping the best oat latte you’ve ever tasted, basking in the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves of mature trees whose leafy canopy perfectly frames your view of an antique merry-go-round. This is an actual place that I plan to go out of my way to visit again during my next trip to Paris.

The location? KB Café Shop in Montmartre (the 9th Arrondissement.) We stayed for part of our visit in Hotel Rochechouart so this cafe was just down the street. So I stumbled upon it by sheer luck. Let’s try to keep it a hidden gem, agreed?

The Best Place in Paris for Vegan Burgers?

We tried quite a few vegan burgers and cheeseburgers across Paris, including several chain restaurants. As for our favourite? We couldn’t agree on a shared favourite.

My top choice is the vegan cheese burger with bacon from Green Farmers, directly across the street from The Moulin Rouge. The flavour, texture, presentation, and mouth watering taste are simply *chefs kiss*

However, my sister felt the burgers at a pint sized food stand in the 2nd Arrondissement were better. Furahaa is a tiny vegan cheeseburger and fries shop, but don’t let the size fool you. Their “fast food style” burgers are comparable to a Big Mac from McDonalds—but of course all vegan.
