Some things you don’t know about me:
- I’ve been vegetarian my entire life (I’m almost 36!)
- Toronto, Canada has been my home for nearly 20 years. But before that, I grew up in small southern towns in the USA.
- I’ve been practicing programming from the age of 12 and I work for a large tech company. There were very few women who do what I do back then—thankfully that’s changed.
- But I actually started my professional career in the fashion industry!
- Practicing “what I preach” is integral to me; and ultimately I did not like the wasteful and harmful practices that kept the fashion industry churning at an unstable (and dangerous) pace. So I left, professionally, to pursue a job in the technology industry.
- The Purist Life was started as a way for me to record alternative brands that focused on sustainable and ethical practices. Eventually I decided to make it public to share what I’ve learned and found along my journey.
- Shopping secondhand is second-nature to me, I’ve shopped this way from when I was poor up until now.
- I keep clothes … forever. If I’m able to 🙂
- I prefer to have less things, but the best of things.
